After singing in many of the piano bars and clubs around Italy Rae (born Sharon-Marie Johnson Feb 21) returned to London to join vocal dance quintet Masquerade, releasing 'One Nation Under A Groove' on Morgan Khan's Streetwave label, the band going on to tour music venues across the country. Before the band recorded the second single 'Set It Off', she was invited by record producer Peter Richards to record an album of duets with 'The Chosen Few' frontman, Errol Brown.
After a meeting at A Major Studios in Ealing she was invited to record with renowned producer Andy Reynolds www.ceolnua.com and began a five year creative partnership. As well as writing and recording original material with Andy for Solid Noise Productions Rae recorded a cover version of the Jon Bon Jovi hit single 'Miracle' and collaborated on original dance single 'You and Me' with Dextor James which went out for release in Spain. She also provided session vocals for other artistes in the industry and recorded a catalogue of jingles at A Major for Radio FM Fukuoka in Japan. At one such session vocalist guitarist Richard Darbyshire www.richarddarbyshire.com of soul outfit 'Living In A Box' expressed an appreciation of her vocal skills and offered to write some material for her. Outside of Solid Noise Productions she recorded sessions for producer John Edwards who had a number one UK hit with "Save Your Love", Renee and Renat0. Other sessions include 'Just2People', R&B singer Toyin Adekale, Mark Linley Evans on "Full English Breakfast" as well as live and studios sessions for The Arthur Louis Band and rock blues band, Picture This.
Some time later Rae was invited to join a chart-topping acid jazz band as frontwoman. The band toured extensively and appeared on Music Box and live on Channel 4's The Girlie Show. After the band disbanded Rae took some time out before heading to Majorca Spain to take part in Show Time At La Gala a variety show where she performed her one woman show alongside other excellent artistes and a superb Temptations tribute band who she had the pleasure of singing a few songs with. Now focusing more on private and corporate entertainment she joined vocal piano duo "Cut Above" and began performing at corporate events home and abroad. She began to concentrate on the high end of the market and put together an extensive and varied repertoire that cater's to a wide ranging audience - from popular soul funk classics to mainstream and obscure jazz swing favourites.
Having delighted audiences throughtout the UK with Motown Soul group Mission Blue www.missionblue.co.uk she is now becoming one of the leading forces in high end private and corporate entertainment performing a Jazz Soul Diva show and a Soul Motown show. Rae is passionate about live performance and always delivers beyond expectation. She will bring sheer quality and class to any occasion.
